This action was initiated in 2001 and continues to the present day. The main sponsor of the action - Mr. Dill, a Lutheran from the United States, who we met thanks to our old friend Mr. Peter Kroshlak (for three years he together with Moscow Patriarchy helped Russian migrants).
Besides, we are collecting medicine, clothes, children toys and money from Moscow citizens. Humanitarian aid is distributed among the most marginal population ("From Hand to Hand") by the leaders of the migrants’ NGOs, created by the refugees from Chechnya of the first wave. There were 8 trips to Chechnya, Ingushetiya and Dagestan. This action is not a mere aid to the victims; it is a kind of self-healing of the society from xenophobia.
"Peace Route"
Twenty-ton trailer with humanitarian aid went through half of Russian in 2002- from Ural to Chechnya. It stopped in 11 cities where migrants’ and human rights NGOs collected the New Year presents for children-victims of the war, conducted tolerance lessons at schools (students wrote letters "to unfamiliar Chechen friend"). In each city the "Peace Route" was welcomed by a meeting and a concert. Humanitarian aid from Moscow was in such large amounts, that we had to rent an additional truck to join the trailer.
The "Peace Route" started in Groznyi (Chechnya). For the first time during the war the children of a destroyed city gathered at a concert (at the hall of "Orgtechnika" of the Staropromyshlennyi district). The "Peace Route" is 4500 kilometers against hatred.
